VSIPL (the Vector Signal Image Processing Library) is an application programming interface (API) defined by an open standard developed by a wide range of people and organizations. The core of the library provides portable but efficient algorithms for signal processing and linear algebra. The reference version provided on the site was developed by SPAWAR as a government project.

Comments:

  • Either the code is very well-written, or they've disabled warnings.
  • The entire VSIPL site seems to have been abandoned in 2002, except for the updated reference version being added in February 2003.
  • HPEC-SI abandoned their own line, CodeSourcery has taken over but has rewritten it as a c++ package.
