From Unmaintained Free Software

Jump to: navigation, search

Welcome!

Accelerating Apache Project, Linux Doors, MICE, VSIPL

  • Hi, thanks a lot for adding the above projects to Unmaintained Free Software! A few notes, though:
    • The History box is more a maintainence history than a history of the development of the project. This box should only contain entries like "Initial announce", "New maintainer: Foo", etc.
    • The Current Maintainers field is reserved for potential new maintainers, i.e. it should be {{No Maintainer}} initially.
    • Feel free to link to relevant keywords on WikiPedia using [[WikiPedia:Foo]] in the description (this is not required, though).
    • I renamed AccelApache to Accelerating Apache Project and LDoors to Linux Doors, as those seem to be the "official" names of the projects. For the short names of the projects I created redirects using #REDIRECT [[Foo]] (Aap and Ldoor).
I'll try to summarize these and other things in sort of a manual or in the FAQ, soon. Thanks again for your contributions! --Uwe Hermann 18:27, 8 May 2005 (CEST)
  • Thanks for the above notes and the renaming. I'll stick to the conventions outlined here, as I add projects. (Of the 140 projects I maintain the records for on Freshmeat, I'd say maybe a quarter have no maintainer at present. Of the 300 project records I've bookmarked, I believe about a fifth are for projects with no maintainer. I can't very well achieve world domination through tracking software if there's no changes to track. :)
  • Style and content adjustments for the records I've added have been noted, and I'll make sure future records stick to them. There's going to be plenty. If only projects were being picked up as quickly. I'm getting a little concerned that the group that picked up VSIPL have dropped the ball on it. If so, it'll be one of the few (possibly the first, I don't know) projects to get re-listed. --imipak 04:53, 23 January 2008 (CET)
