Move to WikiBooks

  • All links are dead and I hate it when hard work just vanishes because of that. If it's released under the GNU Free Documentation License or something similiar I propose to move the text to http://wikibooks.org. This will make collaboration much easier and helps to avoid those problems. Matt 15:46, 31 January 2007 (CET)
    • Great idea! Ideally this should be done by the maintainer of the package. Did you try to contact Aaron Barnett? Currently the project is marked as maintained by him. If we cannot get hold of him, maybe the project should go into Unmaintained state again. --Uwe Hermann 18:55, 31 January 2007 (CET)
      • eMail to palmfaq@outerbody.com results in an Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender so I guess the maintainer lost interest in this. I will put this into WikiBooks tomorrow. It's a GNU project and the list of contributers is attached so I think the GFDL fits even though it is not explicitly stated.
        • Oh, ok, wait. You cannot put in into WikiBooks if they require GFDL'd texts. The FAQ is not GFDL'd as far as I can see, and only the authors can change or set the license. --Uwe Hermann 00:33, 1 February 2007 (CET)

Move to PalmOS Development FAQ Wiki

You are right. I changed my mind and instead sent an eMail to the webmaster of Palm OS Development FAQ wether he wants to save the GNU Pilot SKD FAQ. Matt 10:30, 1 February 2007 (CET)

  • The administrator Ken Corey set up an editor account for me. Everyone can get one - just mail him; this is just a method to prevent spam. I converted the .txt to wiki syntax and preserved it's content - outdated information about maintainership is marked with strikethrough: http://flippinbits.com/twiki/bin/view/FAQ/GNUPilotSDK contributors eMail addresses are removed for spam protection. I created the Wiki page, but I won't start the community building process. There will be no promotion from my side as I am not inside the topic and do not know the community. Setting this to maintained again. The maintainer is now the TWiki software used, it's administrators and users. --Matt 11:39, 2 March 2007 (CET)
