  • All images and other data files must either be licensed under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License or must be public domain. - I am not sure wether this is a clever idea to limitate it to some license. There might be software that uses icons released under the GNU LPGL or a Creative Commons license or the Free Art license or whatever. Nobody has the right to change the license just because he pressed the PRINT button. Matt 20:47, 21 January 2007 (CET)
  • http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Konqueror-Screenshot.png is a good example. The Nuvola icons are released under the LGPL license, Konquereror is licensed under the GPL, the content inside Konqueror is Wikipedia which is licensed under the GFDL and the Wikipedia Logo is copyrighted. • Good point. The FAQ is really outdated and needs some work anyways. Regarding the images: I'd say we compile a list of acceptable (free) licenses which can be updated when needed. My main concern is that we must definately not allow images which don't have a clear license attached and images which have a non-free license. --Uwe Hermann 22:52, 21 January 2007 (CET)
      • I forgot, you are a slightly paranoid Debian developer :) I like that! Matt 23:15, 21 January 2007 (CET)
