Project Details

Entropy (Emerging Network To Reduce Orwellian Potency Yield) is a program similar to the Freenet project. It realises an anonymous network that is not censorable.

Entropy uses the same protocol (FCP - Freenet Client Protocol) as Freenet 0.5. So it's possible to use the Freenet clients also for the Entropy network. Note that Entropy is an own network, it only uses the same protocol to communicate with the clients!

Entropy is faster than Freenet 0.5, it also doesn't lack as much resources as the Java app Freenet does.

Comments:

  • I am not the author of this programm. So please contact Juergen Buchmueller ("Pullmoll") for more informations. --84.190.244.52 14:59, 19 April 2007 (CEST)
  • The reason why it's unmaintained now, is that the author wasn't sure if Entropy is safe enough. Most of the "pros" concentrated themselves on Freenet, Entropy wasn't tested for it's security by any mathematicians. --84.190.244.52 14:59, 19 April 2007 (CEST)
