Project Details

The Accelerating Apache Project (aap) is a project created by SGI to reduce the latency within the Apache 1.x webserver, although many of the ideas probably would apply to some degree to Apache 2.x as well. SGI abandoned the project after the Apache Software Foundation rejected the suggested improvements and SGI decided it was not interested in maintaining a parallel fork forever. It has since been situated on SourceForge, awaiting a new maintainer.

- The homepage of the site is advertising for a new maintainer. The code is old (circa Apache 1.3.20) but probably still viable. --User:Imipak
